James E. Irvin, Sr. 67, of Marsh Creek, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at his home. He was born in Mill Hall on December 21, 1940 the son of the late Elmer & Sarah Coble Irvin.

James married Donna K. Butler, she preceded him in death on May 28, 1995.

He was a machinist with Avco of Williamsport for many years until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of the Williamsport Lodge of The Free and Accepted Masons, and he was a member of the Liberty Twp. Sportsman''s Club.

He is survived by two daughters; Rhonda J. and husband David Miller of Marsh Creek & Penny S. and husband Craig Whitman of Beech Creek. A Son; James E. Jr. and wife Shirley of Marsh Creek. 3 sisters; Laurine "Tiff" Irvin of Lock Haven, Velabrublin "Dome" DEcrole of Mill Hall, and Delores Brown of Jersey Shore. One brother; John Irvin of Marsh Creek. 7 grandchildren; Stephanie and Stephen Herrold, Nathan and Kyle Whitman, Brittney Hanley, and Shannon and Maresa Irvin. 3 great-grandchildren; Audrina Whitman, Kyle and Kody Hanley. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Monabelle Probst and Dorothy King and 1 brother Raymond.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2008 at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard, Pa. 16841. Funeral services will be Friday, December 5, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Pastor Bob Maurer officiating. Burial will be at the Schencks Cemetery, Howard Twp., Pa.
