Paul H. Vonada, 77 of Howard, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Geisinger Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born August 31, 1934, a son of Henry O. and Dorothy E. Vonada. On June 17, 1953, he married Clara Belle Getig.

Paul was a dairy farmer his whole life long. He also enjoyed his time as a member of the Auxilary of the U.S. Coast Guard. Paul was an avid gardener and fisherman. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his cats. He was a life-long member of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Jacksonville.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years and five children, Collette Beuther and husband Paul of Neenah, Wisconsin; Douglas Vonada and wife Terri of Howard; Linda Weaver and husband Leroy of Howard; Alana Rose and husband Lew of Mingoville; and Judith Corl and husband Edwin Seyler of Howard. His is further survived by four grandsons; Ryan Reese of Port Matilda and Tyler, Travis and Trevor Corl of Howard. He is also survived by his sister; Norma Dorman and husband George of Mill Hall.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard with the Rev. Nancy Kuhns officiating. There will be a public visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will be at the Jacksonville Cemetery.
