Kenneth A. Emenhizer, 74 of Flemington, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at his home. He was born in Orviston on October 3, 1936. A son of the late Clayton and Maude Rhoades Emenhizer. He married Phyllis M. Glossner on October 28, 1957. She survives at home.

On October 28, 1957 he married the former Phyllis M. Glossner, who survives at home.

He was employed by Cerro Metal & Brass of Bellefonte, retiring in 2000 after 34 years of service. Ken was a faithful member of the 1st Church of Christ in Lock Haven where he had serving as a deacon, elder and trustee.

Ken proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959.

He enjoyed spending time tinkering in his workshop and spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Connie (George) Harman of WIlliamsport, Bonnie (Wayne) Bechdel of Lock Haven and Donna Lannen and Fiance Tom of Lock Haven, a son Kenneth A. Emenhizer Jr. of Lock Haven; a sister, Viola of New York; a brother, William (Monk) of Milesburg; seven grandchildren, Mellissa Myers, Jeremy Mason, Jessica Reeder, Nicole Lupole, Michelle Bower, Sarah Bechdel and Megan Emenhizer, and four great-grandchildren, Ezra Mason, Kyra Myers, Jude and Katie Bower.

The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard with the Rev. Stephen H. Salmon officating. Burial will be in the Schencks Cemetery, Howard Twp, with military rites at graveside. Friends will be received from 6 - 9:00 p.m. at the Thursday, September 22, 2011 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of Christ, Water and Vesper Streets, Lock Haven, Pa. 17745.

I was blessed to have the Emenhizers in my life. The world has lost a kind and gentle man. My thoughts and prayers are with his family...I will always have such fond memories of Big Kenny.

Years ago I worked with Kenny at Montgomery Wards. He was a great co-worker and a wonderful young man & will be missed by all who knew him. My prayers go out to all.

So sorry to hear about Kenny's recent illness and sudden death. He was a wonderful man. I have so many good memories of him and Phyllis. Sad we didn't get to see him since last summer. May God give peace to Phyllis and the rest of the family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

I remember when us grandkids were younger, every year on easter you would walk us over to the park so the grown ups could hide easter eggs out in the yard without us spying. You truly was an amazing grandfather. I <3 and miss you so very much. You may be gone but you'll never be forgotten. R.I.P. Pap
