Gerald R. "Cherry Pie" Barner, 78 passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at UPMC Williamsport.  He was born on April 24, 1941 in Bellefonte, Pa. the son of the late Harry M. & Verna Beatrice Heeman Barner.

He was a truck driver for his brother at H.M. Barner Trucking.  He was a 1959 graduate of Bellefonte High School.

Gerry was a lifetime member of Walker Twp. Fire Co. He was a avid bowler at Bellefonte Lanes.  In his younger years he was an avid hunter, and enjoyed skating at Hecla Park. He liked to mow yards and loved eating breakfast at Sunset West and T.A, Truck Stop.

He is survived by four sons; Gerald (Audrey) Jr. of Vincinnes, In., Richard (Linda)  of Blanchard, Randall (Deanna) Barner of Lock Haven and Mike (Lynn) Corman of Altoona, one daughter; Denise (Nelson) Haight of Lock Haven, three brothers; Harry, Barry, and Kenny Barner, two sisters; Joyce Fetzer and Barbara Brouse, ten grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Clarence, Mahlon, and Robert, one sister; Florence Litz and his life long companion Barbara Inhoof.

Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Mark Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kevin Shock officiating. Friends and family will be received from 10:00 - 11:00 am. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Snydertown Cemetery on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
