Darman D. Sherman answered God’s call in the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 21, 2022, and went home.
He was born July 29, 1942, to the late Cliff and Eva Sherman of Blanchard, PA. Darman is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy Sherman, three daughters, Kimberly Oswalt-Zimmerman (Larry) of Julian; Michelle Aungst (Ron) of Lock Haven; Kristy Sherman (Eric Watkins) of Avis, and four grandchildren and one great grandchild and a special niece, Tammy Sherman, whom he thought of like a fourth daughter.
Darman was a graduate of Lock Haven High School and soon after joined the Navy where he served for 6 years. His ship carried the first troops into Vietnam. Darman was a very special and skilled construction worker who could do anything. He was always available to help anyone in need. Since his move to Florida, he especially enjoyed being a volunteer member of his community’s HOA ramp crew who provided and built handicap ramps for those who were in need. His greatest joy was riding around the community in his Penn State decorated golf cart to feed the deer and check on the gators.
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion of Beech Creek, PA and a member of the local 824 Laborers Union.
There will be no services per his wishes. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family.
