Obituary

Donald L. Tressler Sr., 76, of Bellefonte, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. He was born in Bellefonte a son of the late Fred Sr. and Madeline Tressler. He graduated from Bellefonte High School.

Don was a proud United States Marine serving his country in the Vietnam Conflict from 1964 to 1967, and then as a Sargent in the National Guard. He was a auto mechanic for Rider Auto in State College at the Burrowes street and West College locations for 25 years. He was of the Catholic faith.

Don was a member of Post 1600 V.F.W., Bellefonte where he served as past Post Commander. He was also a life member of the Undine Fire Co. and a 50 year member of Bear Meadows Sunset Hunting Camp. He loved spending time there and hunting and playing poker with his friends and fellow members.

He was married to Winifred Tressler who preceded him in death. He is survived by 2 sons, Donald Jr. ( Denise )  of Howard and Eric ( Hope ) Tressler of Bellefonte, 2 daughters, Michelle ( Jeff ) Elnitski of Bellefonte and Jodi ( Sam ) Reish of Howard, 6 grandchildren, Noah, Aubrey, and Gage Tressler, Ryan Hockenberry, Zach Dann, and Peyton Elnitski, and 2 great-grandsons, Logan and Lyle Hockenberry, and a sister Gwen Haines.  Along with his parents and wife he was preceded by 2 brothers, Barry and Fred Tressler, and sisters, Betty Bloom and Mary Butler.

Private services will be at the families convenience with burial at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville with military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bear Meadows Sunset Hunting Camp c/o Brian Lucas 111 Zane Circle, Spring Mills, Pas. 16875.
