Obituary

Doris J. Stover, 77, of Nittany, went home to her Father in Heaven on Thursday, May 13, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Norman and June Stover. Doris is survived by sisters; Martha McClain and Linda Stover, and  brothers Ron ( Penny )  and Carl ( Pat ) Stover all of Nittany, and brother Wayne ( Pat ) Stover of Montoursville. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Doris graduated from Bellefonte High School and would continue to work as a secretary there for over 20 years. She then co-owned an ice cream shop as well as a craft store.

She loved to sew, cook, bake ( especially cookies ) and do all kinds of crafts. She loved to tent at Grange Fair, watch Penn State football and was a avid Phillies fan. She enjoyed playing softball, volleyball, and loved spending time playing cards and games with her family and friends.

Doris was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Snydertown where she was Junior Choir director and she sang in the adult choir. She also enjoyed playing piano.

Her family express their gratitude to the workers and staff at Centre Care  and  U.P.M.C. Hospice for taking good care of Doris!

 Services will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the  St. Mark Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Road, Howard,16841 at 1:30 P.M. with Rev. Evelyn Wald officiating. Friends will be received from noon until the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
