Jean P. Strouse, 91, of Clintondale, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022, at the Celebration Villa in State College. Born on June 14, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margret (Fleisher) Barner. On December 25, 1949, she married Roy M. Strouse. Roy passed away on November 26, 2021.
Jean attended the Lock Haven High School. She was a member of the Clintondale United Methodist Church. She was a home maker and helped her husband on the family farm.
Jean lived a very simple life. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and needlepoint. She was an excellent cook and loved to bake, especially Christmas cookies. She liked being outdoors, admiring all of Gods creation. She missed spending time with her dog, Sadie. Sadie passed away 2 weeks ago.
Jean is survived by her two sons: Michael W. Strouse and his wife, Charlene, of Lamar and Allen L. Strouse and his wife, Treva, of Bellefonte; four grandchildren: Shelley Strouse, Scott Strouse (Colleen), Rusty Strouse (Beth Keller), and Charlotte Flick (Jeff); two great grandchildren: Ford Strouse and Brandon Flick, and one great-great granddaughter, Hayzlee Flick.
She is also survived by one brother, Dale Barner of North Carolina.
Along with her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by two brothers: Donald Barner and Earl Barner and three sisters: Betty Weaver, Gloria Thompson, and Doreen Berens.
Services for Jean will be private. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Roy, at Mount Bethel Cemetery.
