John Hoover

John Hoover passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of April 14th, 2023.  He was born in Charleston, West Virginia on April 6, 1946 to the late Ida Hoover and Wilson Clark Hoover.  He grew up in Altoona, Pa and later moved to Connecticut in his teens. He attended University of New Haven, studying Mechanical Engineering and stayed in Connecticut until his retirement, before returning to Pennsylvania. 

He was a loving father, grandfather and an avid outdoorsman. He loved all things related to nature and was always up for the next adventure with friends and family.  In his retirement he enjoyed sharing his passion for the outdoors with both of his grandsons. 

Before retiring, he worked as an engineering leader at Dictaphone, Nidec and AeroCo. He never hesitated to apply his engineering skills to real life and always willing to learn, whether that be creating a bear proof bird feeder or figuring out how we could make hand warmers last longer.  And finally, he was very proud of his lifelong accomplishment, establishing the Bald Eagle Tree farm. The farm was a lifelong endeavor to establish and a legacy to later enjoy.  

He is survived by his son and daughter Joseph and Jennifer, 2 grandsons, Clark and Christopher, and daughter-in-law Noelle, Ryan, sister Ann, cousin David and many other friends and extended family members.   He joins his late father, mother and brother Mark in eternal rest. Dad, we will miss your smile, insights and laugh, we miss you.
