Kenneth L. Durkin 82, of Bellefonte, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital.
He was born in Lock Haven on May 9, 1939 a son of the late William and Hazel Phillips Durkin. He was a 1957 graduate of Lock Haven High School. Ken was united in marriage to Frances Homan on September 16, 1967. He retired from Champion Parts after many years of service. He was a member of Trinity Reformed Church, Hublersburg.
Ken was a life long Phillies and Eagles Fan and enjoyed NASCAR. He loved Boston Terriers.
Ken was preceded by a son, Bryan Durkin on July24, 1992. Along with is wife he is survived by a sister, Carol (Jack) Robison of Mingoville, sister-in-laws, Shirley (Thomas) Boldin of Bellefonte and Doris (Mike) McKinney of Wisconsin, brother-in-law, Boyd (Jeanne) Homan and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He is also survived by his K -9 companion Bailey a Boston Terrier and Trixi Schneefuss a foreign exchange student who lived with them from Germany.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard at 2:00 p.m. with the Deacon Thomas Boldin officiating. Friends and family will be received from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Schencks Cemetery in Howard. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the "Bellefonte Educational Foundation" earmarked Bryan Durkin Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Ken Bean 318 N. Allegheny Street, Bellefonte, PA.16823.
