Margaret Evelyn (Barr) Goodrow

Margaret “Evelyn” Goodrow went home to Jesus on May 7,2022 at the age of 86. 

Evelyn was born to Olin and Stella (Bohensky) Barr on July 13,1935 in Emporium, PA. As a child, Evelyn enjoyed time with her sisters Delores and JoAnn while growing up in Driftwood and Emporium. She graduated from the Cameron County High School, Class of 1955.

Evelyn met Bryan R. Goodrow in 1951 in Emporium. They married August 24,1957 and went on to have three children, Gordon R. Goodrow of Carlisle, PA; Bryan K. (Shyrle) Goodrow of Emporium, PA; and Garo D. (Lynette) Goodrow of Bellefonte, PA.

In addition to being a dedicated wife and loving mother, Evelyn operated Evelyn’s Ceramics in Emporium. She enjoyed camping and being a campground host along with her husband at Sizerville State Park for several years. Evelyn also loved spending time with her family and friends and regularly attending Zion Community Church. Evelyn always cheered for the Washington Redskins and the Pittsburgh Steelers. 

Throughout Evelyn’s entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with everyone. She regularly prayed for others. We rest in the promise of Jesus’s salvation and seeing her again when He returns.

Evelyn joins her parents and sisters in Heaven. In addition to her husband and three sons, she is survived by seven grandchildren: Alexis (Scott) Miglicio; Lucas (Jen) Goodrow; Chance Goodrow; Jobie (Josh) Gray; Anna Goodrow, Reggie Goodrow (Joseph Glover); Parker Goodrow; and 7 great-grandchildren: Brayden, Abram, Rosalie, and Vivian, Jackson, Elowyn and Bishop.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please send monetary donations in Evelyn’s name to Zion Community Church, 3261 Zion Road, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
