Martin Kaschalk 77, of Bellefonte, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 4, 1943 a son of the late Martin and Mildred Verbonitz Kaschalk. He was a 1961 graduate of Nanty Glo Vintondale High School. Upon graduation Martin went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. He served four years, spending two in Vietnam, where he earned the Vietnam Service medal and Vietnam Campaign and Good Conduct Medals.
On June 20, 1969 he was united in marriage to Judy Mitchell in Winchester, Virginia, she preceded him on October 10, 2017. Martin served the Commonwealth as a State Policeman from 1968 until his retirement in 1995.He was a member of the Marine Corp League and the Bellefonte Elks. He was an avid hunter, particularly turkey, and enjoyed fishing, especially in Alaska. He enjoyed golfing and loved animals, but his greatest pleasure was time spent with his family.
He is survived by a daughter, Michele Kaschalk of Huntingtown, Md., two sons, Martin ( Kimberly ) Kaschalk of Clearfield, and Jeffrey ( Jennifer ) Kaschalk of Traverse City, MI., three brothers, James, Henry, And Francis Kaschalk, and three sisters, Anna Licastro, Sue Hanson, and Theresa Horgas, six grandchildren, Shane, Andrew, Jacob, Nicholas, Colin, and Paul, and a great-grandaughter, Willow.
