Mary Louise Fillmore, 86, formerly of Flemington passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Susque-View Nursing Home. She was born in Jersey Shore on June 2, 1935 a daughter of the late John "Jack" and Mable Truax Walsh.
Mary was a graduate of McKeesport High School. Upon graduation in 1953 she went to work for Reed Walters at Clinton County Finance until a acquisition in 1971 by Avco Financial services. She would remain with Avco until 1993 when she had to retire due to breast cancer.
She was a 26 year breast cancer survivor. Mary was a member of the Mill Hall United Methodist Church. Her favorite saying was " Gods timing is perfect". She was a true believer and loved her church family. She enjoyed playing games on her I pad, knitting, and crocheting.
On March 5, 1971 she was united in marriage to Nevin R. Fillmore. He preceded her on October 9, 2021. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Ev Hanley of Wyoming, 2 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins, and her special cousin Janet "Sissy" Penick. Along with her parents and husband she is also preceded by a son, Gary Wayne Hanley on July 23, 2017 and two step-sisters, and her step-father, Robert Shearer.
A funeral service will be held on Monday November 1, 2021 at Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 West Main Street, Howard at 6 P.M. with Rev. Alan S. Eckenroad officiating. Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the service. Online condolences may be made at www.kader-neff.com
