Obituary

 

 

 Mary Lou Fravel Houtz, daughter of the late Walter William and Mary Jane Wolfe Fravel  passed

Away on 24 July 2022.   Mary Lou was a 1956 graduate of the Lock Haven High School.  She 

Worked for several years at General Armature.  She then worked at Penn 

State for 35 years, at that time she retired in 1999.    After retirement, she went on to become a Lay

 Speaker for the United Methodist Church.  She was a member of the Lamar United Methodist church in 

Lamar, Pa.  She was a member of the local Red Hat Society which she started with classmates and friends.

She was preceded in death by Her father and mother, one sister, Bonnie Frey, and a son-in-law, 

Timothy Brian McGrath.

She is survived by husband, Carl, daughter, Debbie McGrath, son, Christian (Robin) Houtz and three

Grandchildren, Sean McGrath, Christopher Houtz, and Brandi Houtz.   Also surviving, sister 

Arlena (Robert) Miller and nieces and nephews.

Mary Lou lived each day to the fullest, she was one busy lady.  She traveled a lot and saw a lot of the

Country.  She loved to read.  She belonged to a Book Group at Barnes and Noble.  This was a second
