Obituary

Michael F. Shawver, 73, of Howard, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Mount Nittany Medical Center,State College.  He was born on November 7, 1948, in Bellefonte, the son of the late Marlin Junior & Alice Irene Horner Shawver.  He was also preceded by his stepdad William F. Colpetzer who raised him.

Michael graduated from Bellefonte High School class of 66.

He worked at Cerro Metal retiring in Nov. 1997 after many years of service. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.

He married Amy Tice on November 21, 1970, she survives at home.

Michael was a member of the Living Faith Ministries Free Methodist in Mill Hall.

Along with his wife he is survived by one son, Jesse E. (Lisa) Shawver of Howard, two daughters, Lorraine M. (Chad) Padgett of Magnolia, Delaware & Susan A. (Brian) Crater of Havelock, N.C., one brother, John Shawver of Arizona, twelve grandchildren and one great-grandson.  He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Alexander Shawver, one brother Samuel M. Shawver, Sr. and one sister, Mary a Painter.

Friends and family will be received from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2022 at the Living Faith Free Methodist Church, 7175 Nittany Valley Dr., Mill Hall. Graveside services will be held  at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa. with Pastor Brian Billings officiating.
