Milford "Sonny" O. Etters Jr.

Milford O. "Sonny" Etters Jr. of Howard, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023.  He was born on January 29, 1940, in Yarnell, the son of the late Milford O. Sr. and Mabel Kessling Etters.  He was united in marriage to Carol Bechdel on March 20, 1964, she survives at home.  

Sonny worked at Cerro Metals until his retirement. He attended Bald Eagle Area schools. He also proudly served his country in the U.S.M.C. from July 1, 1958 - June 30, 1961.

He loved woodworking especially building things for his family and benches for his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Sonny donated the wooden Christmas figurines to the Howard Park.

Sonny is survived by one son Jason E. (Dena) Etters of Edgewater, Md, two daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Fendo of Wynnewood, Pa. and Julie Etters of Germantown, Md., three brothers, George (Nellie), Fred, and Charles (Barb) Etters, three sisters, Anna Mae Bechdel, Edna Houdeshell and Dorothy Etters and two grandchildren, Taya Etters and Sophia Fendo.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard, with Pastor Craig Rose officiating. Friends and family will be received from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at the funeral home.  Burial will be at the Schenck's Cemetery, Howard, with military rites.
