Roy M. Strouse

September 16, 1930 ~ November 26, 2021 (age 91)


Roy M. Strouse 91, of Mill Hall, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021. He was born in Porter Township, Clinton Co. on September 16, 1930 a son of the late William and Bessie Nihart Strouse. On December 25, 1949 he was united in marriage to Jean P. Barner. She survives.

Roy was employed at Piper Aircraft for 34 years and then with Taylorcraft after their acquisition of Piper. He was a member of Clintondale United Methodist Church. Roy was fond of restoring Ford 8n and 9n tractors. In his younger years he coached Little League Baseball in Lamar and was proud to have led a team within one game of Williamsport. He was a lifetime member of the N.R.A.

Along with his wife he is survived by two sons, Michael ( Charlene ) Strouse of Lamar, and Allen ( Treva Deibler ) of Bellefonte, two brothers, Edward ( Ellen ) Strouse, and Larry Strouse four grandchildren, Charlotte Ann ( Jeffrey ) Flick, Russell ( Beth Keller ) Strouse, Shelley Strouse, and Scott ( Colleen ) Strouse, one great-grandson, Brandon ( Chloe ) Flick, and a great-great granddaughter, Hayzlee Flick. He was preceded  by brothers, Clarence, Louis, William, James, and Richard Strouse, and sisters, Arlena Dietrich and Betty Girton.

Private services will be held at Kader-Neff Funeral Home, Howard with interment at Mt. Bethel Cemetery.
