Bernard W. Pierson Jr. 84, of Howard, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at home with his family by his side. He was born on July 31, 1937 in Philipsburg, the son of the late Bernard W. Sr. and Catherine Brown Pierson.
On November 28, 1964, he married the love of his life, Barbara E. Gardner, they celebrated 57 years together. They had four children together. He is survived by three sons, Scott M. (Melissa) , Wade A. (Karen Ballock), Brad W. (Lisa) Pierson, and one daughter Katina (Derek) Pacella. He is also survived by grandchildren, Brooke Pierson, Tyler (Sami) Pierson, Michael Pierson, Bailey (Gino) Petrucelli, Jessica (Amanda) Pierson, Brandon and Nicholas Pacella, Tom (Aimee) Barzona, and Bryan (Nan) Gundlach, and four great-grandchildren, Emmett, Ira, Jordan, and Kinley and he is also survived by brothers, Robert L. (Linda) and Don L. (Eileen) Pierson, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, James D. Gardner, sister-in-law Cindy Gardner, and his in-laws James L. & Eileen Gardner.
He was a member of the Beech Creek American Legion, the Howard VFW, and former member of the Howard VFW pool league for several years. He enjoyed shooting pool, hunting, fishing, riding his bike, and the outdoors. Bernie retired from Titan/Cerro Metals in 2008 after many years of service.
There will be no public viewing. A memorial service at the Beech Creek Wesleyan Church will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Alan S. Eckenroad officiating. Friends will be received from 10-11A.M. at the church.
