Julia Ann Andrade Gardner, 73, of Pleasant Gap, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at the Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born on January 4, 1948, she was the first born of twin girls to Aurelio and Luz Renteria Andrade in Liberal, KS. She graduated from Liberal High School in 1966. She attended the St. Anthony’s Nursing School in Amarillo, TX and graduated in 1969. She was a candy striper in 1966 and then was employed by the Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KA until her retirement in 2005. She took year off and then worked another 5 years as a PRN.
Julia was married to Joseph P. “JP” Gardner, Sr on November 12, 1971, in Liberal KS. To that union are four children: son, Joseph P Gardner, Jr of Firestone, CO, three daughters: Jammie P. Weatherford and her husband, Thomas, of Auburn, WA, Jennifer P Gardner and her life partner, Lori Jones, of Westminster, CO, and Jolene P. Witzke and her husband, Scott, of Olathe, KS. There are nine grandchildren, four step grandchildren, and two great step grandchildren.
Also surviving is an older sister, Mary Goodpaster and her husband, John, of Denton, TX, twin sister, Jeannie Justice and her husband, Larry, of Albany, GA, and one brother, Joseph S. Andrade and his wife, Sondra, of El Paso, TX.
There are 16 nephews, 15 nieces and 2 sister-in-laws, Marie Yearick and her husband, Terry, of Spring Mills, PA, and Deborah Lucas and her husband, Russell, of Pleasant Gap, brother-in-law Timothy Gardner and his wife, Lisa, of Bellefonte, PA, and her mother in law, Caroline M. Gardner of Pleasant Gap, PA surviving.
She was preceded in death by her parents, half-brother, Lorenzo Zamaro, nephew, Michael Zamora, sister-in-law, Bonnie J Stephens, and father-in-law, Joseph J. Gardner.
There will be a rosary at the St. Johns Catholic Church in Bellefonte, PA followed by visitation at 3pm on Sunday, September 5, 2021. Funeral Mass will be on Monday, September 6, 2021, at 10am at the church with Father Brian Saylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Zion Cemetery in Zion, PA.
