Born in Rolla, MO. he was the son of the late Randolph D Brumgard Sr.
and Connie L Brumgard.
Graduated from Bay City High School, Bay City Tx.. 1984
Wharton Junior College, Wharton Tx. Associate Degree 1987
St. Martin College, Lacey WA 1994 and a Bachelor degree from
Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA 2003
United States Army Master Sergeant (Retired) Randolph Dale Brumgard Jr. had over 20 years experience in the Special Operations, Joint, interagency, and combined forces as a Special Forces Operator, Sniper, Communications Sergeant, and Weapons Specialist. He had multiple deployments with 7th Special Forces Group to Colombia, Afghanistan for Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, and Panama with 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment for Operation JUST CAUSE. Randy was a graduate of the Special Operations Instructor Course; Military Freefall (MFF) Course; MFF Jumpmaster Course; Special Forces Advanced Reconnaissance, Target Analysis, and Exploitation Techniques Course; Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat Course; Special Forces Qualification Course; Senior Leader Course; Advanced Leaders Course; Static Line Jumpmaster Course; Special Operations Target Interdiction Course; Ranger School (Distinguished Honor Graduate) and Airborne School. His multiple awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medals, and the Army Commendation Medal with "V" device for valor. MSG Brumgard retired honorably after 27 years of service in 2015.
His prime objective was to serve his country as a brave loyal soldier.
Randy loved the Army it reared him, nurtured him, and gave him the most satisfying years of his life.
Randy’s greatest achievement was his two daughters Faith Harley and Grace Morgan.
He lovingly and patiently taught them to hunt, fish, swim, scuba dive and looked forward to winter
getaways and family Christmas gatherings in Happy Valley, and a daily visit to the Penn State
Growing up Randy loved romping through the Colorado mountains with his hunting and fishing buddy,
his cousin, Tina (Ergott) Wakefield. Randy was anxiously planning a trip to Tina and Cliff’s newly purchased
historic hotel in Montana with his companion Lea Costley.
He was preceded in death by his father Randolph D Brumgard Sr. and his sister Laurie O’Connell. He is survived by
his daughters Faith Harley and Grace Morgan of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Companion Lea Costley;, Ashville, NC;
Mother Connie L. Brumgard; Brother-in-law, Dennis O’Connell; Maternal Grandmother, Gertrude Vonada;
Aunt, Carol Franks; Uncle, Clarence (Butch) Zeigler all of Zion, PA. Great Aunt Miriam (Sis) Sidwell, Granby
Ct.; Aunts Candy Reeder; Vickie (Roger) Burkett; Uncles Jake Brumgard, Dick (Kay) Brumgard, Joe Brumgard
all of the Lock Haven area. Bob Brumgard, Robertsville, Mo; Willie ((Pam) Brumgard, Clintonville, N.Y.
Numerous cousins and dear friends Sandy Meade, Eileen McKissick, Cindy Compton, Bill Williams (diving
Buddy) and Robert Arias (High School Friend).
Randy was a Mason and a Shriner.
Randy was of the Lutheran faith. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 West Main Street, Howard, PA. 16841. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday, August 13th from 6-8 P.M.
